All of our Scotland wide training has now been completed as phase 1 of the Positive Pathways Scotland Project. Many thanks to the vast number of family carers who attended our classroom based training sessions over the past 12 months.
We have two options for elearning:
- A follow up e-learning resource (Phase 1 Course) for those who attended training sessions from June 2016 to June 2017
- A new and comprehensive e-learning resource (Phase 2 Course) which is an alternative to classroom based training launched on Wednesday 10th January 2018
Please click on ‘Create Account’ if you would like to register, or email pps@trfs.org.uk if we can help with any queries.
Please be aware that there is no cost to access this elearning resource, and that this project has been funded by the Scottish Government.
Feedback
Here is some feedback from our classroom based training sessions:
- ‘I could not recommend this training course enough for parents’
- ‘Course materials gave a fantastic starting point for where to begin with creating a plan (BSP)’
- ‘Lovely folder and easy to read handouts’
- ‘There was a very good balance in allowing us to talk about our own experience and focus on the course materials’
- ‘The trainer was knowledgeable and delivered the course well. She gave examples of scenarios which helped to explain the theory’
- ‘Thoroughly planned and delivered in a very educational way. The trainer was great at giving us information, but also good at thinking about the PBS approach for ourselves’
Hello, and welcome to the Positive Pathways Scotland website.
I’m Laura Andrew, a Behaviour Support Advisor from The Richmond Fellowship Scotland and I’m leading our Positive Pathways Scotland training programme.
I’ve worked with the organisation for 13 years, and have completed the Professional Development Award in Managing Behaviour Support (Napier University accredited) and have an IABA Positive Behaviour Practices certificate.
The main aim of our project is to set up a free Behavioural Advice and Intensive Support Service for Carers of young people with autism. We have hosted free training events across Scotland 1:1 intensive behavioural support sessions, and we are now launching a comprehensive elearning resource as an alternative to classroom based training.
Our intended outcome is to promote wellbeing for family carers and to improve quality of life for young people by creating awareness of the Positive Behaviour Support model (PBS) and its benefits.
Positive Pathways Scotland has been funded by the Scottish Government’s Autism Development Fund, and created by The Richmond Fellowship Scotland Positive Behaviour Support Team.
